Baltimore City & Baltimore County Rental License Inspections

Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) Lead Paint Testing

Baltimore City & Baltimore County require all owners of rental properties to obtain and maintain a Rental License. This license must be renewed every 3 years in Baltimore County and every 1-3 years in Baltimore City.

Part of the Licensing requirement is having the property inspected by a Baltimore County or Baltimore City DHCD approved, Sate Licensed Home Inspector.

At Home Inspection Services, LLC is State Licensed and registered with the Baltimore City Department of Housing and Community Development and Baltimore County Permits and Inspections

BALTIMORE COUNTY:

We are experienced in Single Family Homes, Multi-family homes, Apartments and Condos Inspections

Upon passing your Inspection we will provide you with Baltimore County Inspection Form, Carbon Monoxide Report and the New Tenant Notification Form.

If repairs are required, we provide you with a report outlining the needed corrections.

BALTIMORE CITY INSPECTIONS:

property inspections.

When your property passes the inspection, a Baltimore City Rental License Inspection Form(s) will be issued.

Multi-Family properties will also receive the Multi-family Checklist Addendum.

If repairs are required, we provide you with a detailed report outlining the needed corrections.

Baltimore City Rental

Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) Lead Paint Testing

Maryland (MDE) requires all rental properties built prior to 1978 be registered with the State and be inspected for lead paint.

The first step in the process is to obtain an MDE Tracking number.

This number is assigned to the Landlord, all the Landlord's properties built prior to 1978 will be listed under that Tracking number.

To obtain your Tracking number call MDE at 410-537-4199. There is a fee for this number.

A Lead Paint Risk Reduction Inspection is both a visual and sampling gathering process. Once the visual inspection of all painted surfaces passes inspection, the dust sample collection is performed. All samples are delivered to the lab the day of testing. Test results are received in 3-5 days.

Upon the successful completion of the inspection, you will be issued an MDE-330 form indicating that you are in compliance with the MDE Lead requirements.
